Dear Link families and supporters,

As we continue our celebration of 40 years of service to the Newark community, I am struck by the juxtaposition of change and continuity. The faces at Link-- leadership, teachers, students—all change periodically. The curriculum and academic program is constantly updated and strengthened. The technology is always improving. Most recently Marnie G. McKoy helped lead us through strategic planning, a feasibility study, curriculum enhancement, technology upgrades, and arts enrichment. Her vision for Link inspired us all.

But, just as we are constantly growing as an institution, we are always deeply rooted in the mission that the Sisters of St. Dominic created and we remain constant in many ways. We continually deliver a solid program that prepares students. We consistently attract exceptional people to share in our mission. We regularly beat the preceding year’s test scores or graduation statistics or scholarships earned. Since 1969, in partnership with so many supporters and leaders, we have delivered excellent results and our students have achieved tremendous success.

It is perhaps this juxtaposition of change and continuity that keeps us strong.

We remain grateful for the many individuals and organizations that contribute to our institutional growth and touch our students; they rejuvenate our institutional spirit. But, we know that above all those individuals is a mission that remains the same, one that calls adults and students alike to give their very best. Whether student or teacher, head of school or trustee, parent or supporter we give of ourselves, we grow and in return this community that is Link is strengthened and nourished so that it can continue to serve well into the future.

I know that the current faces of Link—faculty, families, supporters--will add to and strengthen Link Community School and ensure the consistently excellent education that will serve our students well.
