Tuition & Financial Aid

Link Community School, Admissions

At Link Community School, we believe that parents and school work together to educate children. This is a partnership. Families are asked to participate in the partnership by supporting the Core Values, helping with homework, ensuring that students complete assignments thoughtfully and fully, communicating with teachers and administration regularly, and providing the appropriate school uniform.

While each child’s education costs approximately $20,000 at Link, we realize this is not affordable for many of the families of Newark and the surrounding area. So to make an independent school education affordable, Link provides significant financial aid to all accepted students. Link is able to do this thanks to the generosity of the many supporters of the school – individuals, foundations, corporations and churches. We rely on our donors as Link does not receive public funds, except for some services, such as the nurse, a social worker, Title I tutoring, Compensatory Education and some textbooks.

Link typically asks families to pay only a small percentage of the total cost of education of their child, an amount determined on a sliding scale based on household income. Beginning in the 2013-2014 academic year, additional dollars will be made available to provide a number of families with FREE TUITION. To be considered, applications need to be submitted to Link by January 31, 2013.

There is no application fee at Link; however a registration fee of $100 plus a deposit on a school uniform is required on the day of registration.

Tuition, if assessed, is paid on a monthly basis, or families can choose to pay in a one-time annual payment or split it into two semi-annual payments.

Please note that a family’s income is not considered when making an application decision.
