Da’Cheray Thomas, M.A.T.

ELA Teacher, grade 6

Da’Cheray is a Newark Native who graduated from Link Community School in 2005. She has spent many years giving back to my community through  various organizations and experiences. After Link, Da’Cheray attended Science Park High School and graduated from Bloomfield College with a Dual Degree in Secondary Education and English Literature.  she also holds a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership in Supervision & Counseling.  Currently, she is entering her 5th year of teaching, having taught in Paterson as well as in Newark. She is also a proud member of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa Incorporated, a professional organization for women Educators.

Outside of school, Da’Cheray coach highes school volleyball.  She is the Founder and CEO of Young Queens: D.I.A.M.O.N.D.S., Inc., a non profit organization based in Newark geared toward the development of Young Women in the urban community. This organization focuses on mentorship, community service, academic excellence, and dance. She organizes and executes various community service projects for her mentees. The organization has fed over 600 families over the course of 4 years.

In addition to teaching at Link, Da’Cheray will also serve as the Assistant Dean for Lower House.
