Marnie G. McKoy, Principal

Marnie G. McKoy is the Principal of the Link Community School, where she oversees the overall operations of the school and a staff and student body of 150. Marnie's vision is to develop an outstanding learning community that personifies the Core Values through differentiated instruction and the arts, as well as parental and alumni involvement. Under her leadership, Link has upgraded its instructional technology and is decreasing the digital divide through the use of SmartBoards and mini-labs; introduced a breakfast program; and implemented Theatre Arts, Health and Literature Enrichment courses.

Prior to Link, Marnie served ten years at the Pingry School in Martinsville, New Jersey. From 1994 to 1997, she taught middle school English and research skills. In 1998, Marnie was promoted to Assistant Director of Admission and continued teaching middle school English courses. In 2003, she was awarded Pingry's prestigious Citizen of the Year Award, presented to "the members of the Pingry family, who, in rendering meritorious service to the community, have demonstrated those qualities of responsible citizenship that Pingry aspires to instill in all of those associated with the School."

In 2004, Marnie was selected to participate in Harvard University's Principal Institute, where she studied Urban School Leadership with experts from around the country. In 2002, Marnie received the Pingry School's Young Teacher Award, awarded to "a young faculty member who best personifies the Pingry Philosophy." Marnie also served as the Pingry site Dean for New Jersey SEEDS, a program committed to preparing academically gifted students for independent schools. In 2000 New Jersey SEEDS awarded her the Citizen Award for her outstanding service to the organization.

Active in the community, Marnie served as a Trustee of the Greater Brunswick Charter School where she led various committees. She is a Trustee of the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools and has been a featured panelist who is often invited to lecture and conduct workshops. Marnie is a graduate of Rutgers University, Douglass College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Education and earned her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Seton Hall University, where she was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, an International Honor Society in Education.
