Summer session students perform community service at food bank

Part of the culture at Link is to "give back to the community" and the students in the summer session did that in a big way by volunteering at the Community Food Bank in Hillside, NJ this summer.

The non-profit food bank collects food donations and then serves as a central distribution center for their non-profit partners who provide food to individuals, soup kitchens, food pantries and shelters. Link students worked for several hours on two different days to package food for distribution. Student impressions of the project were positive. Al-Jeanette Downing enjoyed her experience, saying, "It felt good to share and to care for others." Abigail Rozier stated, "It made me think about how important it is to help people." And Keyana Ellerbee exclaimed, "It was good to give back to others…I felt like I did something big!"
