S.T.R.O.N.G. prepares young men at Link for the future
Onaje Crawford, program director, and four young high school students from NJLEEP brought the S.T.R.O.N.G. program to Link in the form of a workshop for our young men.
S.T.R.O.N.G. (Striving to Reunite Our Next Generation) is a "rites of passage" type program with a focus on developing a positive "male code" and positive values as a means to better success for urban males. The program consisted of a number of interactive exercises to bring home to the students the importance of having structure as well as good support systems in their lives. At the close of the program, Link student Fernando Diaz stated, "This program was great. We learned how to work together and how important it is to have good friends and people around to help you succeed."
