| The Dream by Jamee Adams, Link Class of 2009 Many people One land Differences need to be put aside on a common ground for us to live our lives. Hesitation needs to be stopped... Honestly I know why!!! It's still discrimination and segregation That's no lie In a world full of hate Where no one gets along. Peace needs to happen Before humanity is gone I see the U.S. changing I think it's changing for the better With Obama as president Things get worse before they get better. So just have faith And keep hope alive Without those qualities Lives will go by. A change is a comin' So keep your head high Don't ever lose faith That is how spirits die. MLK had a dream that is now being shown We are a part of that dream now and when we're gone The dream is not done Nor yet finished But as change is comin' We keep on beginning Starting new dreams each day Learning that we are what makes us this way But the dream is that we keep hope in our hearts Fight for what is right Set right and wrong apart Change is a comin' The dream is not dead We keep on dreaming So that my poem will continue to keep on dreaming the dream. |
