| Dear Link community, Last week, Link’s Board of Trustees shared with our stakeholders (trustees, faculty, staff, administration, parents, supporters, and alumni) that Marnie G. McKoy, Link’s Head of School for the past five years, would be departing the school to share her skills and talents at another school. We wish Marnie much success at the Community Charter School of Paterson and know that the passion she brought to Link will serve her new school well. With this news coming just as the new school year begins, we have put in place a transition that will both honor Link’s 40 years of service to the Newark community and support the future of the school by appointing Maria Pilar Paradiso as Interim Head of School. This transition will best allow us to build on an already firm foundation. In partnership with parents and supporters, Maria and an outstanding administrative team, faculty and staff will complete planning for the next school year and deliver an excellent academic program that prepares our students for lifelong success. We are also in the midst of creating a transition team and developing a search committee to identify a permanent Head of School. Throughout this transition we will share updates with our stakeholders who so fervently support our mission to provide an outstanding independent school education to Newark youngsters. Whether parent or trustee, donor or volunteer, we thank you for investing in the mission of Link Community School and our most precious resource—our children. Sincerely, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, Wendy Lacey, Chair |
